AI can write content. However, if you have noticed (because I have), AI content can sound robotic and generic, and may also be using slang English.

It can be factually incorrect, may have a divergent tone, and may even miss the SEO aspects. Trust me, if you are writing content for your client with AI and submitting it as it is, you may lose that client.

Let’s come to the point!

AI content creation tools are just for helping, not a shortcut to producing content. If you need help with content pieces like blogs, articles, and ad copies by using AI, you need to be smart.

You have to check the content for factual information, human insights, and SEO optimization. Here is how you can write blog post with AI reference!

What Can AI Writing Tools Do?

Not just a blog, AI writing tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Jasper, etc., can help you write ad copies, articles, emails, newsletters, ebooks, and whatnot. These tools can also be used to analyze websites for relevant keywords, content briefs, etc.

The only thing that you need to do is provide a good prompt. The more detailed your prompt, the better the results from the AI will be. Here is an example of the same!

Prompt: What is digital marketing? Prompt: Provide me with a comprehensive overview of digital marketing with real-life examples and case studies.

You see, the difference in the response of AI is due to the detailing of the prompt.

Effective Tips for Writing Blog Posts with AI Reference!

In my opinion, there is nothing better than organic, manual research for blog post writing. However, when time constraints are there, collaborating with an AI tool is beneficial.

If AI is used without proper content strategy, it can produce bland content full of slang, jargon, and complicated language. Here is how you can write blog posts with AI.

1. Do a thorough keyword research.

No matter if you are writing a blog or AI, keyword research is crucial. If you have the blog title, search for relevant keywords. You can do it via tools like Ahrefs, SEMRUSH, Google Keyword Planner, etc.

Carefully check the keyword difficulty and keyword volume to shortlist the best keywords. You can also look for other matching keywords based on the way you plan to write the blog.

Here is a trick that I use to get relevant keywords. If you search the blog title on Google, open the best blogs written around the topic.

Provide this prompt to ChatGPT: I will provide you with a link that has a blog. I need you to analyze the page and tell me its title, keywords used, and a bulleted list of topics discussed in it.

AI content creation tool will provide you with the keywords used in the page.

Note: This method works, but you must consider conducting your own keyword research.

2. Understand the Intent

Intent is the thing that helps Google rank your content at the top. Based on the keywords, you can check the intent with which the ranked blogs are written. For example, if your blog is about digital marketing, check what kind of blogs rank on the top. These can be informational blogs, how-to blogs, case studies, etc.

Depending on the search intent behind the keyword, you can create AI-assisted content without using slang English that perfectly aligns with the user’s expectations.

Pro-tip: Tools like Ahrefs help you identify the intent behind the keyword with the Identify Intents feature.

3. Be Unique From The Content Angle

AI usually provides generic content. As it learns from the published content, there are no practical human insights, personal experiences, or real-life examples. To ensure that your content is different from the one already published online, look for a unique approach to writing the content.

You can use AI to brainstorm ideas. Moreover, you can research published blogs for missing sections and perspectives. Focus on SEO-friendly content that stands out from the competition.

4. Begin Structuring the Content

Based on the researched keywords, intent, and blog angle, begin structuring your blog content. You can seek AI assistance in creating an outline for the blog based on the parameters.

Now, it is time to filter out the headers and concepts that are not discussed in the competitors’ blogs. Look for concepts that are already discussed in the blogs on the web. Filter out the ones that are not and rearrange them as per your blog angle.

Note: While it is a smart choice to keep unique sections in the blog, it is also necessary to add sections discussed by the competitors in an improved way (the important ones). The topic coverage of a blog affects its SEO.

5. Add an Informational Gain Element

Informational gain is a part that defines the freshness and uniqueness of the content. If you ask me, it is all about adding something that is not there on the web yet. It can be a personal experience story, an expert interview, or data backed by experimentation.

An example of informational gain is in this blog, where I discussed the trick to find relevant keywords in point number 1. That is my personal experience. Besides this, you can add your personal experience (preferably with numbers and data) to make the blog more relevant and valuable.

6. Start Writing the Content

Now that you have the wireframe of the blog begin writing it. A word of advice! Never write the entire blog with AI writing tools at once. You have different sections under specific subheaders, right?

Write content with AI section by section. This will help shape the content in a number of ways, such as

  • Using slang English will be reduced. It will also reduce the slang formal writing factor.
  • You can avoid generic content phrases and focus on SEO optimization.
  • Focusing on one section at a time will help in making the content sound natural and high-quality.
  • Add finishing touches, such as an informational gain section, to make the blog authoritative.
Should You Use AI to Write Blogs?

Yes, you can use AI to write blogs and other content pieces as long as you are providing helpful and high-quality content. Even Google says that if your content is not intended to manipulate search rankings, it is safe to use AI for content creation.

For better ranking, the content should be written as per the E-E-A-T guidelines.

Conclusion

Writing blog posts with the help of AI is not wrong. It enhances productivity in writing, but you have to consider the consequences. AI-written content is not always accurate and high-quality. It misses a lot of aspects required for search engine rankings. Lastly, it may raise concerns like copyright issues and content bias.

Human oversight is a must if you are using any AI writing tool. Remember, AI can replace you in terms of speed but not in terms of human judgment.
